Wildling Art Museum in Los Olivos, a museum dedicated to presenting the art of America's wilderness is planning a four-day three night trip to one of California's great scenic areas, Sequoia and King's Canyon National Parks. The trip, scheduled for October 9-12, will be led by retiring Wildling Art Museum Director Penny Knowles and her husband Joseph. It is designed to complement the educational experience provided by the Museum's fall exhibition: "In altitude: Four views of the Southern Sierra" (Sept. 20, 2009 - January 3, 2010.)
Accommodations in the attractive and very comfortable Wuksachi Lodge will allow for two full days of exploration. The first day will be spent visiting such sites as the Giant Forest, Moro Rock, and Tokopah Falls. The send day the group will take the breathtaking scenic road to King's Canyon where they will picnic at the Cedar Grove before returning to Wuksachi.
The cost of $650.00 per person includes round trip transportation from Santa Barbara or Los Olivos on a comfortable air-conditioned coach three nights double occupancy accommodations with queen size beds and private baths, ten meals, (including three dinners, four lunches and three breakfasts), snacks en route, and a small contribution to the Museum.
