From 9:00a.m. to 3:00p.m. at Santa Ynez Valley Recycling & Transfer Station, 4004 Foxen Canyon Road, Los Olivos. Free for Valley residents. Small businesses must schedule an appointment and will be charged disposal fees (call 805/822-3615 for current rates and an appointment time). A maximum of 15 gallons of liquids or 125 pounds of solid material will be accepted per trip (up to 3 trips per residence). This is NOT a free dumping day--no trash or green waste will be accepted during the event. Examples of Household Hazardous Waste will be Accepted: Antifreeze, batteries, expired medications, fertilizers, flourescent tubes, gasoline, hobby supplies (e.g. glue, photochemicals), household cleaners, paint, paint thinner, pesticides, pool chemicals, solvents, and used oil and filters; we will also accept home generated sharps (e.g. needles, syringes) in puncture-proof containers; containers are available for free att he transfer station during normal operating hours. NO explosive, radioactive, or biological material; NO ammunition or smoke alarms; NO controlled substances. Examples of electronics accepted: Computer and office equipment (e.g. monitors, CPUs, printers, fax machines), audio and visual equipment (e.g. televisions, VCRs, radios, CD players), and small appliances (e.g. microwave ovens, toasters, automatic coffee makers).
