PCPA's Company, In Concert
When you’ve got good friends, why settle down? That’s the dilemma for birthday boy Robert, a 35-year-old introspective bachelor. He musingly pursues his friendships with five married couples whose wives adore him while the husbands envy his single status. Although wistful of their married state, it’s the state of their marriages, which have Robert keeping his girlfriends at bay. Presented in concert with a live orchestra, this 1970 Tony Award winner was a landmark musical for its exploration of adult relationships. Highlighted by an insightful and humorous book by George Furth, the musical's innovative score by Stephen Sondheim features the soaring “Being Alive,” the caustic “The Ladies Who Lunch” and the show-stopping “Side by Side by Side.” (Adult language/mature themes)
The play will be held at Solvang Theaterfest at 420 Second Street in Solvang. For tickets, call 805/922-8313, visit the box office at Solvang Theaterfest, or visit www.pcpa.org
